We are one of only two agencies in India accredited to verify fertiliser sector obligated entities under the CCTS compliance mechanism.

We have completed six CCTS Monitoring, Reporting and Verification assignments across six pulp and paper units for the 2025-26 assessment year, with site verification visits carried out between August and September 2026. Every one of them falls inside our accredited scope under ACVA012.

What a CCTS verification involves
- Appointment and independence check — confirming no conflict of interest with the obligated entity, as required by the BEE accreditation procedure.
- Monitoring plan review — checking your emission monitoring plan against the sector-specific methodology notified under CCTS.
- Desk verification — production data, energy and fuel consumption, GCV analyses, meter calibration certificates, emission factors and the boundary definition.
- Site verification visit — physical verification of flow meters, CT ratios, weighbridge records, DCS trends and log sheets against reported values.
- Corrective action requests — raising and closing CARs, CLs and FARs with the entity.
- Verification statement — issuing the verification report and statement for submission to BEE, with the verifier’s opinion on the reported emission intensity.

Accreditation under the Carbon Credit Trading Scheme is granted sector by sector, and by mechanism. We state our scope precisely, because appointing a verifier who is not accredited for your sector invalidates the exercise.

Our accreditation is for the compliance mechanism. We are not accredited for the offset mechanism, so we do not validate or verify offset projects.

We work with obligated entities in aluminium, cement, chlor-alkali and textile on everything up to the verification itself: emission monitoring plan preparation, boundary and metering gap assessment, baseline and emission intensity computation, data system readiness, and preparing your team for the verifier’s site visit. What we will not do is describe that work as accredited verification.
Why we cannot do both for the same entity
Verification requires independence from the entity being verified. If we have prepared or advised on your monitoring plan for a reporting period, we cannot act as your verifier for that period, and the reverse also holds. Decide early which of the two you want from us, because it is not reversible once the cycle starts.

How many accredited carbon verification agencies are there in India?
Fifteen agencies hold ACVA accreditation from BEE (ACVA001 to ACVA015). Some are accredited for the offset mechanism, some for the compliance mechanism, and some for both.
What is the difference between the compliance and offset mechanisms?
The compliance mechanism covers obligated entities in notified sectors that must meet a greenhouse gas emission intensity target. The offset mechanism covers voluntary projects that generate carbon credits. Accreditation is granted separately for each; ours is for the compliance mechanism.
Can the same agency do our energy audit and our CCTS verification?
No. Verification requires independence from the entity being verified. If we have provided consulting on your monitoring plan, we cannot act as your verifier for that reporting period, and vice versa.
