Pyranometer is a device which is used to measure the solar irradiance from a hemispherical field on a flat surface. The SI units of irradiance are watts per square metre (W/m²). Previously pyranometers were mainly used for climatological research and weather monitoring purposes, however now a days they are mainly used for the Solar plants performance monitoring.
